In the winter ski schools and ski-kindergarten invite to a perfect family holiday. Who wants to take it easy during the holiday enjoys the northernmost valley of South Tyrol during a ride with a horse drawn sleigh or a ride with the lift to Klausberg or Speikboden, with a wonderful view on the mountains.

In Ahrntal Valley snow is guaranteed and from December till Easter it offers the best conditions for a winter family holiday, snowman building, snowball fighting and sledge ride included. The Tamarix Family park, the Family Skilift in Rein in Taufers/Riva di Tures and Weißenbach/Rio Bianco and the Sunkid magic carpet in Kasern-Casere offer, besides a conveyor for beginners, a sledge run and „tubing“ run, as much as a „Rennböckl“ for bigger children and young people but also for the parents.

The Klausiland is a children´s dream: With many special attractions, the little ones can let off steam in lofty heights! Klausi-express, magic carpet, snow igloo, Klausi castle and slides. Klausiland and its attractions stand for pure entertainment. What´s the name “Klausiland” all about? Just ask the dinosaur Klausi! Under the watchful eyes of Klausi, nothing except pure fun is happening here.

At the Family-Funpark at the Speikboden Ski Area, the adventure park for kids in the valley station, the little ones will have a lot of fun!

A journey back in time is a dream of almost everyone. Watching prehistoric giant lizards doing their thing sounds spooky at first. On the “Dino Fun-Line” such giants are awaiting the curious clients: Tyrannosaurus Rex, triceratops and stegosaurus await the children, the freestyle newcomers and every other interested person. Drag your curves, visit the whoops and small boxes and visit our dinosaurs. Evolutionary history does not need to be boring.

Alpine Coaster "Klausberg-Flitzer"

“Can I have another ride? “ This is a typical question that children ask their parents after getting off the Klausberg- Flitzer. It is not surprising: one ride on Italy’s longest Alpine rollercoaster is simply very funny.
The toboggan run is situated next to the mountain station of the Ski and hiking arena Klausberg in Steinhaus/Cadipietra in the Ahrntal/Valle Aurina. With 1800 m length, little jumps, 360 degree spins and bends the Klausberg Flitzer offers fun and excitement during the family holiday. With a lift you reach the mountain on the sledge. Excitement is increasing and there you go – down the mountain in a speedy ride. Everyone can decide for themselves the speed. It is simple and safe. Putting the lever forward: you accelerate, putting the lever backward you slow down! Just get in and there you go! And the best: The Klausberg-Flitzer is opened in the summer and in the winter.

Snow & Fun Tamarix

You feel like trying something new in the snow?
Then spend some hours in TAMARIX Mühlwald/Selva dei Molini in Ahrntal valley. The Family Park in South Tyrol’s northernmost valley offers holiday fun for the whole family. Whether it be snow bob, snow glider sledge or “tubing” – children can test unknown equipment or make their first tries on skis or snowboard. Also the parents and seniors will spend an extremely satisfying holiday.
The Tamarix Family Park is the ideal place to spend a varied afternoon. Starting point is the lake Meggima. An easy to handle conveyor takes you up for 237 meters. Who wants to race down the illuminated slope in the evening can do it after booking. Tubing, sledges, snow slider sledges and helmets are available at the hire service on site. Safety is the utmost priority in Tamarix Park. Helmets are obligatory and children must be accompanied.

Zipline Klausberg

Goose bumps, rush of altitude, adrenaline rush. Guaranteed. Curious? Fasten your seatbelts and off you go - the Klausberg zipline is waiting for you. Breathtaking and not for the faint of heart!

With the zipline you will cross the so-called "Brugga-Klomme" in eagle flight. Starting from the Kristallalm, you will plunge uncompromisingly towards the Almboden in the rush of speed. Something for the real adrenaline junkies among us and for those who want to become one.

The witching hour at Taufers Castle
A very special tour through Taufers Castle - by night and fog, at the scream of the owl, with history, stories and many little horror fairy tales ... for all brave little people from six to twelve.
Sledging

Special: Toboggan and torch
Tobogganing is fun, even at night. Tobogganing at night is a beloved hobby in South Tyrol and worth a try. Every Tuesday between 7.30 pm and 10.00 pm our new K-Express brings you up to 1.600 meters. There, a 5 kilometres long toboggan run awaits you. Enjoy the nightly sky on two runners and come back up once again using our evening card.
Taufers Castle
The particular homey character of the feudal Taufers Castle astonishes around 75,000 visitors every year. Children enjoy the Chamber of Armoury, art admirers the frescoes in the chapel painted by the Tyrolean Michael Pacher (abt 1435-1498), and romantics the appealing medieval atmosphere.
Waterfalls Riva / Reinbach
An impressive drama of nature is offered by the three Rio di Riva waterfalls which can be reached starting out from the hamlet of Bad Winkel. The Rio di Riva waterfalls are located in the Vedrette di Ries-Aurina Nature Park and offer an impressive view of nature above all else in the summer. Fed by melted snow, the Rio di Riva plunges in three cascades over the rock cliffs into the depths, making it possible for visitors to experience the power of water with all of their senses.

The St. Francis'Path with the 10 meditational spots lines the path of the Reinbach waterfalls up to the Franziskus and Klara chapel.

With a great number of wellness hotels and hotels with swimming pool or indoor swimming pool, the aquatic center Cascade Relaxbad, the ecological pond and the many alpine lakes, the Ahrntal valley in South Tyrol is predestined to be the holiday destination for swimmers.

Swimming is a natural therapy for our health
Did you know that from the first swimming movements on the cold stimulus leads the blood circulation to the external vessels, therefore it’s a perfect training for our vessels? Moreover, the boost of water while swimming relieves articulations and ligaments. Swimming trains the whole circulation and has positive effects on lungs and breath. Thanks to the constant work of the muscles during the swimming the organism increases the consumption of oxygen. Swimming is also relaxing and contributes to work off stress.
