International Wood Sculpture Symposium Ahrntal in Luttach/Ahrntal valley

Set against the stunning landscape in the heart of the Ahrntal Valley, this year four artist teams from different countries invite visitors to experience art up close. From July 7 to 11, guests can watch the sculptors at work and witness the creation of pieces inspired by the theme “The crib tells its story – then & now.”

With skilled hands and creative vision, the artists breathe life into wood – a material often seen as unyielding. The result will be four groups of figures, each created in its own distinctive and unmistakable style.

Sustainable with the public transport:
By bus 450 to Luttach, stop at the Tourist Office or Hotel Post.
By car:
Coming from Sand in Taufers, the carving site is located on the left side of the main road.
Parking: take the small road on the left up to the parking lot at the multipurpose hall.
