Four high valleys - four cross-country trails
The valley head of the Ahrntal valley and each of its side valleys are quiet, relaxing, idyllic. The cross-country trails are perfectly groomed and snow-sure. Within the nature park Rieserferner-Ahrn. The 10-km cross-country trail in Kasern/Casere leads past snow-covered meadows into the deep green spruce forest, along the still narrow Ahr river, to the mine and past inviting rest stops. Blue, red, black: all levels of difficulty. Glistening glacier arena, the majestic Dreiherrnspitze in the foreground.
The extensive Rein in Taufers/Riva di Tures valley floor includes 15 kilometres of cross-country trails, from difficult to easy, from flat to steep. Mobile biathlon training centre with expert guidance. Over bridges, footbridges and hills to the remote Putzeralm. Hochgall and Schneebiger Nock on the horizon.
The Weißenbach/Rio Bianco trail leads along the edge of the forest with a view of the church tower opposite: in a steady up and down that demands a lot from beginners’ legs. 10 km of red trail that can be combined as desired, become a jet-black trail at the end of the valley: There is something for everyone.
Last but not least: Mühlwald/Selva dei Molini. Gently ascending, past the ice rink, through small moors, winding biotopes through fields, forests and meadows, in loops, curves and descents past ancient farms. Start and finish: Mühlwald lake. Varied, athletically challenging, relaxing, here and there a chamois far above...
Improve your health by the movement in the fresh mountain air and enjoy the beautiful nature in the Ahrntal valley. Have rest and relaxation on the trails leading through meadows and forests. And in the end, a refreshment in one of the traditional huts completes a day of cross-country skiing.

Cross country slopes in Ahrntal valley and Sand in Taufers/Campo Tures - Info and details:
- In the village Rein in Taufers-Riva di Tures at 1600 m, 4 different tracks from 3 to 15 km with different levels of difficulty are maintained, also the new biathlon training centre is situated in Rein in Taufers.
- The 16 km long Mühlwald-Lappach trail starts at the restaurant “Meggima on the Lake” in Mühlwald/Selva dei Molini and leads through meadows and fields and past to mountain farms to Lappach/Lappago.
- The Sun-trail Casere-Kasern and Santo Spirito-Hl. Geistat the end of the Valley completes the whole. The 3 to 15 km long cross country ski trail is suitable for any age group and as the name suggests, this cross-country skiing centre in the furthrest mountain village is very Sun-exposed.
