Violinist Anaïs Drago belongs to a generation that has boldly seized the instrument from the straitjacket of classical or jazz traditions. The 2024 Seifert Prize winner flirts effortlessly with electroacoustic experiments, free improvisation, and the simple contours of songs. Especially in her solo work, Drago doesn't use her impressive technique to show off, but as a tool for a musical language that treats categories more as guides than rules.
The concert will take place in the Climate gallery of the STMM in Prettau, a unique setting between rocks, water and light.
